Job Overview
Are you a passionate storyteller with creative flair and a demonstrated interest in writing? We’re looking for a Content Executive to sit at the beating heart of our business, creating engaging content to drive traffic to our website and guide potential customers to make enquiries.
You will join the marketing team, alongside the Graphic Designer, Photographer/Videographer and Marketing Manager, working with them to make our brand the strongest it can be. The marketing team handles the presentation of all external and internal messaging, and is an essential cog in every step of the customer’s journey.
The right candidate will possess a proven ability to write, as well as a hunger to learn new skills and grow within the role. It’s the perfect starting point for a keen marketeer, with the intention to grow the position into email, analytics, SEO and web content management. Training will be provided on the job and will be guided, in part, by the desire to learn and expand new skill sets.
Duties
- Publication of one or more blog articles a week, focussing on the coffee industry, workplace culture and related topics.
- Write content for other marketing collateral, including printed brochures, flyers, posters, internal staff guides and more.
- Write content for marketing emails, including general communications to all customers as well as more precise, targeted campaigns.
- Maintain written content across the FreshGround website with SEO in mind, as guided by the Marketing Manager and external marketing agencies.
- Produce social media posts for publication across all channels, working with our photographer and graphic designer to create content.
- Contribute to other content, such as videos and podcasts, with the support of other members of the FreshGround team.
- Attend frequent meetings with the rest of the marketing team and other departments.
- Assist other team members with marketing and content-related tasks where appropriate.
- Manage customer feedback via review portals (such as Reviews.io, Trustpilot, etc).
- Continued professional development to learn new systems, including but not limited to website management, customer relationship management, SEO keyword tools, analytics and supplier portals.
Over time, through training the role will evolve to include
- SEO content strategy and analysis, working alongside external agencies, to further improve brand visibility.
- Full responsibility for customer emails, from creation, setup and automation to analytics and data management.
- Research competitors and trends, analyse the activity, and use the findings to create and enrich content.
- Run the social media calendar and use analytics to influence content and increase engagement across these channels.
- Study web analytics on every platform, test new strategies and improve conversion rates across the board.
- Create new web pages and make improvements to existing website content via the CMS.
- Monitor and survey our customer base and key target demographic to discover new opportunities for content.
- Stay up to date with new technology and platforms to make informed decisions on what we should be using to benefit the business most.
Skills and required knowledge
- Impeccable writing and editorial skills, with an outstanding command of the English language.
- Experience working to an editorial process and deadlines, with published work examples, either online (e.g. a blog) or in print.
- A hunger for learning new skills and embracing technology to accomplish goals.
- The desire to break into a marketing role and become embedded in a brand.
- Bonus points if you have taken a higher education subject in English, journalism, or a similar writing discipline.
- Bonus points if you are experienced with web CMS systems, such as WordPress.
