This is an exciting time for us as we look for an Front-End Web Developer to work on new features, enhancements and support for all our websites and other bespoke software platforms.
You will be embedded within our existing IT & Development teams and reporting to the Lead Web Developer.
Main responsibilities include, but is not limited to:
- Completion of front-end development projects in line with the quarterly project plan and sprints.
- Support of all live operational websites.
- Bug fixes and end-user support.
Person Specification/Experience:
Essential Experience
HTML5 and CSS3:
- Semantic HTML and Responsive web design principals.
- Use of modern CSS functionality such as flexbox.
- Familiarity with a CSS framework such as Bootstrap or Tailwind (Preferred).
JavaScript / Typescript Experience with using Javascript libraries such as:
Wordpress:
- Knowledge of the templating hierarchy and custom theming (index.php, single.php etc)
- Understanding of the block editor (Gutenberg) and how to create custom blocks
- Familiarity with common plugins such as
- Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
- Elementor
- WooCommerce
- Custom Post Types (CPTUI)
- SEO (Yoast etc)
PHP:
- Understanding PHP for working with WordPress themes, templates, and plugins.
- Familiarity with WordPress PHP functions and hooks.
UX/UI Design Knowledge:
- Understanding and use of design tools (Figma) for collaboration with designers.
Version Control (Git):
- Basic knowledge of Git for code versioning, collaboration and deployment
Cross-Browser Testing & Debugging:
- Proficiency in testing and debugging across different web browsers and device types.
Desirable experience
- Laravel
- Livewire
- Docker & Containerisation Principles
- Hubspot CRM
- Experience with Atlassian software suite (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence)
- Microsoft Office, Office 365, Microsoft Teams
- Use of AI tools such as ChatCPT or Claude
