About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Shopify Frontend Developer to join our growing business. You will play a pivotal role in building and enhancing our Shopify stores, developing our existing functionality, ensuring an outstanding user experience and seamless e-commerce functionality, and helping to launch new brands.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Shopify websites and apps, including custom theme development.
- Collaborate with designers and marketing teams to implement new features, layouts, and customisations.
- Optimise websites for speed, performance, and mobile responsiveness.
- Integrate third-party applications, APIs, and plugins to extend Shopify functionalities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, and downtime.
- Ensure best practices in coding, UX/UI, and security for e-commerce platforms.
- Stay updated with the latest Shopify trends, tools, and technologies to suggest new improvements.
- Advise on release cycles of Shopify API upgrades.
- Development of ecommerce focused improvements to help optimise conversion rates (CRO)
- A/B testing for new website features, and configurations
Required:
- Proven experience as a Shopify developer, with a portfolio of Shopify projects.
- Proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Understanding of e-commerce development best practices, UX/UI principles, and mobile-first development.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve website performance issues.
- Ability to track and roadmap bug fixes new feature requests.
Desirable:
- Experience with Shopify Plus
- Experience with Shopify APIs and integrating third-party services.
- Knowledge of SEO optimisation for e-commerce.
- Understanding of Agile project management.
- Knowledge of coding discount systems.
- Experience in designing a new ecommerce website from the ground up.
- Experience of working with UX/UI designers, and Figma
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Shopify Academy certifications
- A/B testing experience
- Awareness of headless e-commerce solutions.
