As our Brand Content Editor, you’ll be responsible for the creation, commissioning and curation of high-quality, differentiating content guided by Seasalt’s brand identity, purpose and values and inspired by a deep understanding of our customers. This role involves exploring and managing relationships with third party contributors, content creators and partner brands to create best-in-class brand content, optimised across multiple channels including web, social media, blogs, email, direct mail and other marketing materials.
You’ll live in Cornwall and be fully connected with Cornish culture, Cornwall artists and people of interest. You’ll be creative, passionate about the Seasalt brand and have a strategic mindset, focused on value creation through inspiring and delighting our customers with best-in-class content.
This role is offered as a full-time, permanent, hybrid position and you must be based in Cornwall.
You'll help us by:
Brand Content Strategy Development
- Own and develop the Brand Content Strategy in line with Seasalt’s overarching brand and marketing strategy, working closely with Director of Marketing Operations, Copy, Creative, Product Marketing, Customer Insight, PR and ESG teams.
- Ensure Seasalt’s brand content is differentiated and inspiring for existing and target customers, driving desired customer behaviours, lifetime value and brand love.
- Develop clear objectives and metrics for each piece of brand content and monitor content performance using analytics tools. Adjust strategies based on data-driven insights.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market dynamics, customer insights and brand health metrics to inform brand content strategy.
Content Commissioning, Creation and Curation
- Explore and develop relationships with key creative and brand aligned partners based in Cornwall, establishing an exciting pipeline and network of content contributors.
- Work with external and internal content creators, graphic designers, videographers, and writers to produce best-in-class content – highly creative and highly effective.
- Ensure content created is fully optimised by channel, enabling best possible cut through, engagement and return on investment.
Content Process Management
- Manage multiple content projects simultaneously, ensuring processes are efficient, deadlines are met, costs within agreed budget and deliverables are of high quality.
- Effective and efficient management of annual brand content budget.
- Coordinate with external contributors, agencies and freelancers as necessary.
- Oversee brand content approval process, ensuring all content meets quality and brand standards as well as securing legal and senior stakeholder sign off.
- Ensure brand content activity is kept up to date in the Marketing Calendar.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with teams across Marketing, Growth Marketing and the wider business (Product, Merchandising, ESG, Legal, Retail, Ecomm, Partnerships) to ensure brand content supports overall customer and business growth objectives.
- Communicate feedback and updates to content creators and ensure all team members are aligned with content strategies.
- Line management of Assistant Brand Marketing Manager.
Trend/Competitor Monitoring and Innovation
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging content formats, and best practices in digital marketing.
- Maintain high level of cultural connection both locally within Cornwall and more broadly across key markets to ensure Seasalt’s content is as relevant and timely as possible.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor content activity and ensure Seasalt content remains differentiated.
- Implement SEO best practices in content creation to improve organic search visibility and rankings.
- Propose and test new content ideas and formats in line with the content strategy to keep content fresh and engaging.
The skills you'll be sharing with the team:
- Experience working on content strategies/plans for clothing brands.
- Knowledge of multimedia content production (video, audio, graphics).
- Familiarity with UX writing and content design principles.
- Proven experience in content creation, editing, or a similar role, preferably within a brand-focused environment.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and creative content eye with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in content management systems and familiarity with SEO best practices.
- Experience with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and content analytics.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
