About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Web Developer to join our team. The role requires expertise in core PHP for backend development, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and HTML for frontend development. The successful candidate will also be responsible for handling support tickets and resolving technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Web Development:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using PHP for backend functionality.
- Build and optimise responsive, user-friendly interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Interact with MSSQL databases for data storage, retrieval, and updates.
- Ensure compatibility across different browsers and devices.
- Support & Maintenance:
- Monitor and respond to support tickets, troubleshooting issues and providing solutions promptly.
- Work with the team to diagnose and fix bugs or performance bottlenecks.
- Update technical documentation related to common issues and resolutions.
- Performance Optimisation & QA:
- Optimise existing web applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Conduct thorough testing to identify and resolve issues before deployment.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality projects.
- Provide insights and feedback on technical improvements and system enhancements.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of PHP for backend development.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery for frontend development.
- Experience working with Apache web server configurations.
- Familiarity with SQL queries, stored procedures, and optimisation techniques.
- Experience handling and resolving technical support tickets.
- Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of security best practices in web development.
- Prior experience working in a support-focused role or providing customer-facing technical support.
- Experience using Jira.
Soft Skills:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
