The Role
M&G is committed to enhancing our digital channels to engage with our customers and advisers. We’re hiring for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join us as an SEO Executive.
Reporting to the SEO Marketing Manager, the individual will support with the day-to-day management of a wide range of SEO activities and will be presented with a rewarding opportunity to contribute to M&G’s digital transformation.
Part of a growing cross-channel team, the individual will be collaborating with colleagues from a variety of backgrounds, from other marketing channels to product and website management, with a view to reshaping M&G’s approach to SEO strategy and digital marketing efforts more generally.
We are looking for an SEO Executive who is proactive at spotting optimisation opportunities and comfortable providing recommendations across on-site, off-site and technical SEO, as well as clearly communicating them to internal stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Support the SEO Marketing Manager with SEO strategy implementation and SEO recommendations for the wider business
- Use SEO knowledge and a range of tools to analyse website content, mark-up, links and other implementation to spot growth opportunities, drive strategy and develop our technical roadmap
- Carry out keyword research and market demand analysis to identify target keywords for content creation and optimisation
- Provide SEO recommendations, including on-page content and internal linking optimisation, aimed at enhancing digital performance
- Ensure the code behind our website is readable and usable for search engines, and delivers click-enticing snippets where we appear in search
- Monitor and analyse website performance using Adobe and Google Analytics
- Produce monthly SEO reports, highlighting strengths and weaknesses in the performance and recommending actions off the back of data analysis
- Collaborate with the marketing teams to develop SEO-friendly content that meets user intent
- Monitor competitor activities to comprehensively understand the sector landscape
- Stay up to date with industry trends and Google algorithm updates to ensure effective SEO strategies
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- At least 1-2 years of working directly in an SEO role, ideally agency-side with experience on financial services accounts
- In-depth knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms, and ranking factors
- A good understanding of all SEO pillars, including on- and off-page SEO
- An understanding of technical SEO fundamentals, e.g. sitemaps, robots.txt files, canonical tags, redirect management, hreflang, meta tags, etc.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights
- Hands-on experience with a variety of SEO tools, including but not limited to Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Search Console, Semrush, Screaming Frog, etc.
- Certification in Google Analytics or other relevant certifications a plus
- Familiarity with content management systems preferred, but not essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
