The role of Trade Marketing Executive will provide support to the Trade Marketing team in all areas of marketing activity for the company’s brands and retail customers own brand ranges. This key support role will report to our Trade Marketing Manager and collaborate across the business and with our retail customers.
In this role you will get to
- Support in the implementation of day-to-day tactical plans for our brands in our trade channels, including garden centres, general retailers, DIY and grocery multiples.
- Manage specific requirements of our retail customers in the merchandising of our products, working with other marketing staff and other departments.
- Implementation of our launch programmes to our sales team and external retail customers including the production of marketing collateral.
- Work with the sales team to support their sales efforts with the production of physical and digital concepts, mock ups and other material, as required.
- Production of stand layout plans, related data and documents.
- Assist in product development plans for our retail seed and associated product ranges in collaboration with our brand and DTC (direct to consumer) colleagues.
- Understand product costs and profitability where needed.
- Assist with the creation and management of product information and content.
- Input into idea generation for new and existing products and services.
- Involvement in our trade digital marketing plans and implementation.
- Input into, and involvement in, the planning and implementation of trade shows.
- Accompany sales staff on customer visits where required.
We’re looking for people who have gained experience in a marketing role developing and/ or marketing consumer goods, either by achievement of CIM diploma qualification or by practical experience and are looking to add value to the team they support. You will demonstrate:
- Experience within a high SKU count business
- Good computer skills particularly with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent standard of written and spoken English
- Good presentation skills i.e. happy to present ideas to an audience, large or small
- An organised and methodical approach with good analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and under time pressure
- Knowledge of or empathy for gardening
