The A Side: A Day in The Life
Universal Music Group operates an International Commercial Affairs department, responsible for all commercial activity around the globe. This includes all forms of physical and digital commercial opportunities, via traditional retail and direct to consumer activities.
The role will support the whole Commercial Operations team, working primarily of all aspects of new release management and helping to ensure all of the UMG owned labels and 3rd party partner labels can maximise their releases globally.
You will be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and able to work under your own initiative.
Specific Tasks (but not limited to)
- Monday.com: Entering assets into our project management tool in order for markets to set up campaigns
- Reporting: Compiling sales figures for reporting / forecasting.
- Partner Management: Tasks for Soundcloud, Facebook, You Tube, Tik Tok, Instagram, Vevo
- General Assistance: Couriers, presentation building, managing meeting schedules etc
- Cost Approvals: Sorting physical product costings for approval
- Digital Download Pricing: Using the digital pricing system to price UMG product for download
- Release schedule: Compiling the Commercial affairs release schedule

Be driven
- We are looking for a high calibre candidate who is confident and outgoing with a strong sense of personal drive.
Be organised
- Excellent IT skills; must be highly proficient in Word and Excel, with the ability to perform advanced Excel tasks.
- Well organised with the ability to plan and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced environment (ideally within a Commerce team).
Be commercial
- Ability to demonstrate that they have successfully sought out and maximised opportunities.
- Proactive approach to work, constantly seeking improvement in all areas.
Be collaborative
- Excellent ability to develop relationships, communicate and influence others.
- Experience of working on own as well as part of a team, and with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong communicator.
Be financial
- Ability to interpret financial/analytical data.
Be knowledgeable
- Working knowledge of ecommerce.
