Role Overview
The interim Head of Digital for the Homes Business Unit, you will lead our CRM, SEO, and PPC functions, driving performance across these channels. You will be highly analytical, hands-on, and have a strong bias for action. This role requires a leader with deep technical SEO expertise, proficiency in managing PPC campaigns, and the ability to drive segmentation-first CRM strategies that deliver hyper-relevant and personalised communications to our users, with a keen focus on improving funnel performance, session growth, and engagement metrics.
Key responsibilities
Team Leadership and Strategy
- Lead a multi-disciplined team across performance marketing, PPC, SEO, and CRM, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
- Develop and execute comprehensive growth-focused digital marketing strategies that drive performance across CRM, SEO, and PPC channels
- Enhance digital consumer experiences through improved user interfaces, navigation, and accessibility, focusing on funnel performance, and session growth and engagement
- Evaluate and recommend digital tools and platforms, spearheading digital initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and consumer experiences
- Establish and maintain a consumer-centric approach to digital initiatives, evolving digital-focused KPIs to ensure performance alignment with business goals
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with the product, data, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on SEO and CRM strategy, leveraging technology and insights
- Work closely with the broader marketing team to align digital efforts with brand, creative, and overall marketing strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the technical execution of SEO recommendations, CRM workflows, and PPC campaigns
Data & Analytics
- Be highly analytical and hands-on with data. Monitor key performance metrics across channels and continuously optimise for growth
- Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership, highlighting areas of success and potential improvement across all digital channels
- Test, learn, and iterate rapidly across campaigns, employing a bias for action to make real-time improvements
- Utilise a data-first approach to identify opportunities, develop plans, and optimise campaigns to meet business goals
PPC
- Define and drive the PPC strategy in collaboration with the Performance Marketing team.
- Provide oversight for the team responsible for implementing paid media efforts, ensuring the generation of targeted and high-quality traffic to our websites
- Optimise campaigns across multiple metrics to maximise returns
- Conduct ROI analysis and drive optimisation efforts, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of digital advertising campaigns
- Direct the use of data analytics and marketing automation tools within the team to measure, analyse, and generate reports on campaign performance.
- Guide the team in making data-driven recommendations to facilitate continuous improvement
SEO
- Work with the Senior SEO Manager in defining and implementing the SEO strategy across both Zoopla and Prime Location
- Provide oversight to ensure our SEO initiatives are effectively enhancing organic search rankings, increasing website traffic, and boosting overall online visibility
- Stay updated on SEO trends and algorithm changes, guiding the team in implementing best practices
- Help to foster productive collaboration between the SEO and content teams, facilitating the creation of high-quality, SEO-friendly content that aligns with targeted keywords
CRM
- Collaborate with the Senior CRM Manager in defining, implementing and supervising CRM strategies with the goal of enhancing consumer segmentation, personalisation, and engagement
- Utilise consumer data to create personalised email marketing, SMS, and push notification campaigns to improve loyalty and retention
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of CRM systems, working closely with the technology team to maintain and enhance consumer data
- Monitor consumer feedback to guide product and service enhancements
Requirements
- Proven experience leading digital marketing efforts with proficiency in SEO, PPC, and ideally CRM strategies
- Strong technical SEO expertise, including familiarity with website audits, on-page optimisation, and keyword strategy
- Hands-on experience managing large-scale PPC accounts, with a focus on optimisation and ROI
- Highly analytical with a data-first approach to decision-making and campaign optimisation
- Experience with Google Analytics, Google Ads, CRM tools, and other digital marketing platforms
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, data, engineering, and marketing teams
- Self-starter with a bias for action, capable of driving initiatives with minimal oversight
- Strong communication skills, able to present insights and strategies clearly to senior stakeholders
- Track record of optimising digital marketing campaigns for ROI and growth
