As part of our Engage Strategy , the charity is delivering a range of ambitious, modern change initiatives and programmes to better harness our Tech Stack to deliver better experiences for our audiences and engage and inspire millions of people in deeper, more meaningful ways to join our mission (and in turn drive growth).

This will involve supporting the delivery of specific packages of development for these software applications and running them in production. You will work on both front and back-end applications using React, AWS, and TypeScri If you want to learn more about our Activity Management product, check out this article from one of our Engineers working on this product.

You will be supported and trained in developing high-quality code under the mentorship of our talented Senior and Lead Software Engineers, and the wider engineering community while also gaining experience collaborating with Product Managers, Testers, Architects, and Business Analysts to convert business challenges into technical solutions.
If you are looking to move internally into the Software Engineering team and have some experience building web applications (either voluntarily or professionally), we would love you to join our mission.

Collaborating with Product Managers, Service Designers, UX Designers, and Business Analysts to identify user needs, discuss capabilities, and iteratively deliver software solutions.
Participating in a software engineering capability team to learn about good practices, standards, patterns, automation & tools, and gain an awareness of technical debt and operational risks.
Gaining knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles and learning how to track and improve the availability, performance, and security of our products.
Where necessary, supporting the resolution of incidents impacting our products.
Undertake other tasks as necessary to contribute to the team objectives and those of Cancer Research UK.
