Who are we looking for and what will you be doing?
We're not just seeking individuals to join us; we're seeking visionaries who will evolve with us, taking ownership of their development and skills to assist us in building out and supporting workflows for our colleagues.
You will develop, support and continuously improve data integration, workflow automation and custom application solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform. You'll also assist colleagues in their use of Power Automate & PowerApps and over time, supporting the rollout of these skills across the firm.
Working under the guidance and mentorship of experienced developers and the Head of Service & Automation, you will;
- Develop and Support Solutions:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data integration, workflow automation, and custom applications using Power Platform
- Help customize Canvas Apps & Flows to meet business requirements
- Contribute to the creation of workflows, business processes, and simple plugins with guidance from senior team members
- Write plugins and integrations with other applications including web pages and API’s
- Collaborate and Learn:
- Work closely with teams across the business to understand their needs and support solution development
- Present your work to technical and non-technical audiences with support from mentors
- Adopt Best Practices
- Learn about industry standards, modern DevOps practices, and tools such as version control systems and bug tracking
- Contribute to maintaining consistency and quality across development efforts
- Be able to work with and take ownerships of tasks within Azure DevOps Boards
- Support Solutions
- Help investigate and resolve issues with existing solutions, escalating complex problems to senior team members
- Assist in conducting root cause analysis for incidents and share findings with the team
- Where required, be able to coordinate with third party vendors to help resolve issues
- Supporting Others
- Not only will we be supporting colleagues by building workflows, we will also be helping our colleagues be able embrace the technology for themselves
What skills and experience are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in software development and technology along with some knowledge or experience with;
- The Power Platform (e.g. Power Apps, Power Automate, or Power BI)
- Programming languages like JavaScript, C#, or .NET
- Basic Web development (e.g. HTML, CSS) or familiarity with APIs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive approach to learning new tools and technologies
- Strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously, while balancing business priorities and quality
Desirable Skills:
Experience with:
- Customizing or building applications on low-code/no-code platforms
- SharePoint, Microsoft Teams or SQL for managing data
- Microsoft 365 Range of Applications
- Azure/AD
- PowerShell
- Awareness of DevOps practices of the software development lifecycle
