What’s Yonder?
“It's as if Time Out, Amex and Monzo had a baby” - Will T, Yonder Member
We’re building the financial membership of the future. Starting with a credit card that has fun and experiences at its core, we’re the antithesis to your dad’s stuffy, corporate, boring credit card.
Whilst tech is revolutionising the finance industry, credit is still stuck in the stone ages. We want to create a world where financial services are fair and conscious, and the stress of debt is eliminated for everyone.
We've raised an additional £23.4M in September 2024 to grow our team, launch even better rewards and fast-track our expansion outside the UK
Sounds cool. What’s my part in this?
We’re looking for a Digital Designer to join the team for 3 days a week on an initial 3 month contract, with the potential to go to 5 days a week or full-time if it’s a great fit for both sides. This is a chance for someone who’s excited to roll up their sleeves and take our website and performance marketing ads to new heights. If you love making design work harder and smarter, this could be the role for you.
You’ll ideally have a few years experience in digital design and will be able to show us that you:
- Have a strong grasp of website design & optimisation. You know how to design user-friendly, conversion-focused web pages. You’ll take ownership of key pages on our site, ensuring ongoing improvements through testing and iteration.
- Can create effective performance marketing ads. You know what makes an ad click—literally. You’ll work closely with Sian, our in-house Growth Marketer, to create ads that grab attention and drive down our customer acquisition costs.
- Use data to guide your decisions. You’re comfortable testing new ideas, running A/B tests, and using insights to refine your designs—whether that’s on the website or in our ads.
- Keep everything on-brand. You’ll make sure our visual identity stays consistent across all channels, but you’re not afraid to push creative boundaries to keep things fresh and engaging.
- Love working as part of a team. You’ll collaborate closely with marketing, product, and design, and have the chance to influence decisions from the ground up. Communication is key here.
- Balance creativity with results. You’re full of ideas, but you also know design needs to deliver. You find the balance between creativity and practicality, making sure everything you do drives results.
You’ll love working here if you:
Want to make a real impact. You’ll have a direct hand in making our website and marketing work harder, delivering real results.
Enjoy creative freedom. We want you to own your work. You’ll have the space to experiment and the autonomy to make decisions.
Are excited about working with a ridiculously smart and talented group of people, who’ll push you beyond what most competent people think is possible. We’re a nimble, fast moving startup that punches considerably above our weight.

What’s the interview process like?
We take the candidate experience really seriously, so we’ve made the process as transparent as possible. We also promise to be super responsive, and will never leave you wondering where you stand for weeks on end.
Here’s how it works:
- Stage 1: Hiring manager call (30 mins - Remote):
We'll have an initial call to find out a bit more about one another.
- Stage 2: Portfolio review (60 mins - Remote):
We’ll dive deep into one or two projects to understand how you approached the problem, what solution you came to, and the impact you had on your end user.
- Stage 3: Values alignment (60 mins - On-Site):
We'll discuss both of our working styles and values, sharing past experiences and learnings, to see if we’re fully aligned. This’ll be at our Hoxton office.
- Stage 4: Offer If everyone’s happy, we’ll make you an offer to join us - YAY! We hope to always give you a decision between each stage within 24 hours (where possible).
Other things to know:
- We love closing the feedback loop at Yonder. You can expect specific feedback on our decision from Stage 2 onwards, and you can always ask for more.
- We must complete the right to work & criminal background checks for every new Yonder-er for compliance purposes because we handle sensitive customer data.
- We also do reference checks, ideally with your most recent manager on the phone.
We know that diverse teams build better products. If you’re from an under-represented community, we’d especially love to hear from you.
Even if you don’t feel 100% qualified, please do apply anyway. Your attitude and desire to grow are just as important as your experience.
