Social media is a powerful communication tool and is vital to supporting City’s reputation and student recruitment aims, both nationally and internationally. Social media is integrated into all our digital marketing activities and we have a strong and engaged audience across all major channels.
This role is an opportunity to be part of the Social Media team within the Marketing and External Relations department at City and will support our Schools in implementing their social media strategies, raising brand awareness, generating inbound traffic and encouraging positive engagement.
This role liaises with the wider Marketing and External Relations teams to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating a social media referral network, positive reactions and builds pride in the brand. This role will oversee the official channels and post content fit for the specific channel, audience and purpose. They will be the point of contact for advice on digital and social media marketing and communication.
We are looking for a passionate social media professional who is looking to bring their creativity to this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and creating engaging content for City's social media channels: from TikTok trend videos to research focused content. Alongside this, they will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the relevant School social media channels and liaising with the relevant stakeholders.
They will use our social media monitoring tool (Hootsuite) to create monthly analytics reports and make suggestions based on these results. They will use creative skills to devise and create engaging content for posts, such as graphics, short films and student/staff interviews.
You will have in-depth knowledge of social media platforms, their respective users and how they can be used in a professional capacity. Experience in creating creative, engaging digital content is required (copy, photos, videos etc) and professional experience using Adobe Creative Suite. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and will enjoy working as part of a close knit team. In addition, you will have a proven ability to use initiative and be creative and pro-active to suggest and develop new ideas.
