Social Media Content Editor
Salary: National – ranging from £39,100 – £50,000 and London from £41,600 – £53,000 per annum

The team/department
The Strategic Communications and News team is new to the FCA’s Communications directorate. This team is at the heart of what and how the organisation communicates – working with the strategy team to help set and deliver the FCA’s external communication objectives and ensuring that our communication is clear, concise and compelling. The team is split into three: strategic communication partners, editorial and speechwriting, and social media, the team where this role sits.
What you will be doing (the role)

Supporting the Lead and Senior Associate with social media content creation, planning, scheduling & reporting

Helping deliver the organisational social media plan for organic and paid-for content and working effectively and collaboratively with the Strategy & Planning team and Strategic Comms Partners

Updating the FCA’s social media channels, keeping them updated regularly with a stream of creative, distinctive and engaging content and writing copy for social media posts that align with our strategy

Managing the production and editing of high quality and visually appealing and accessible social media content, including animations, videos and podcasts

Staying on top of trends and best practice in social media, bringing inspiration to the team for how to make our channels best-in-class and sharing expertise with communications colleagues to help build capability

Monitoring and analysing social media performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and make data driven changes to the output of our channels

Ensuring consistency in brand messaging, tone and visual identify across channels

The skills and experience you will have
Minimum

Experience of managing multiple corporate social media channels (I.e., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)

Experience of delivering creative social media content targeted at relevant audiences
-
Proven experience of working with colleagues and stakeholders confidently and constructively in order to deliver creative content
Essential

Experience of how to plan, create and execute social media campaigns

Knowledge of different social media channels and what content works best on each to achieve objectives

Familiar with relevant platforms, tools and systems to support social media delivery, syndication, monitoring and evaluation including Hootsuite, Pulsar, and other aggregators/publishing systems, Google Analytics 4

Technical knowledge of fast changing social media channels, trends and opportunities – including those offered by AI and emerging technologies

Ability to turn complex information into clear, compelling, concise social-first content ideas tailored to the channel and audience for most impact

Some experience of working with senior stakeholders to deliver content and managing those stakeholders through the production process
