Job purpose and background
CDP is looking for a full-time social media officer to help us engage our audiences to accelerate the rate of environmental change before it’s too late.If you are passionate about the environment, people and planet, with an eye for detail and a strategic grasp of the power of social media, we want to hear from you.
You’ll be across the latest social media trends, but know how to filter the noise to identify the best way to speak to diverse global audiences. The ideal candidate will have a track record of storytelling, communicating complicated data and in-depth material in the most impactful way. As part of a fast-paced Communications and Marketing Team, you’ll help us hone our messaging, innovate our content and help deliver CDP’s strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities
You’ll have day-to-day responsibility for CDP’s global social media output, including creating content, planning and reporting; and coordinating with colleagues around the globe producing content for regional audiences.
- Plan, schedule and monitor CDP’s social media content.
- Support the day-to-day running of CDP’s social media channels.
- Grow our social media reach, following and engagement.
- Reporting and analysis to improve performance and generate data insight that helps better understand and reach our audiences.
- Create world-class multimedia content to engage, inspire and convert.
- Work with colleagues in the UK and worldwide to deliver integrated, impactful communications and marketing.
- Coordinate global social media and international channels.
- Support colleagues to develop impactful social media content that is on brand and on message.
- Act as point of contact for internal and external social media enquiries.
Required skills and experience
- A proven track-record in managing multiple social media channels from creation to planning and delivery.
- In-depth knowledge of YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Hootsuite or equivalent.
- A track record of growing social media audiences and engagement.
- Strong skills in data reporting and insight – Google DataStudio or equivalent.
- Understanding or experience of social media strategy.
- Extensive experience of paid and organic social media campaign design and delivery.
- Up to date with the latest global social media trends and technology.
- Experience of creating content using design tools such as Canva, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Experience/understanding of brand control and application.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and nurture relationships both internally and externally, including complex multi-stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent team skills and the flexibility to work across the organisation and with global offices and projects.
- Three+ years of relevant experience in social media development.
- Knowledge/insight in environmental and nature-related issues.
Desired skills and experience
- Experience of coordinating international social media content and channels.
- Interest/knowledge/experience of the environmental field and/or B2B audiences.
- Experience of basic video editing or production could be an advantage.
This is a full-time permanent role based at CDP’s London office reporting to the Social Media Manager.
Salary and benefits: £30,626 per annum, 30 days’ holiday, generous non-contributory pension provision, life assurance and others.
