The Role Overview
We are proud of our brand, it is an important consideration within each touchpoint of our business; every aspect needs to feel distinctly Origin from the design of our coffee shops to our packaging, from an organic social post to an image on a pitch document. The Social & Content Creative plays a central role in ensuring our brand consistently remains on point.
The Social Media & Content Creative innately connects to the brand. A coffee enthusiast who considers themselves as much a fan of our product as they are a member of the brand team. They can naturally place themselves in the shoes of our customers and craft an exceptional aesthetic which seamlessly spans our different channels and audiences.
They understand the value and impact that imagery can have in bringing our stories to life. This role works hand in hand with the Content Writer and the Graphic Designer to create stories which engage, inspire, and educate.
Being tuned into the commercial priorities of the business is essential for this role. Understanding the part they play in helping us achieve our goals, the Social & Content Creative ensures they understand the business objectives of any project before getting to work.
The Role Responsibilities:
Social Media:
- Our main channels are Instagram and LinkedIn, and you will be responsible for owning the channels and all content. You will lead the social content calendar, ensuring a focus on ecommerce, retail and wholesale activity, as well as balanced brand lifestyle content.
- You will work with the creative team to deliver a content plan across our key digital channels, owning the visual look and feel of the brand.
- You will be constantly tracking and measuring the performance of all social content across all channels. You will deliver a monthly social report to the wider team and make informed decisions to optimise performance month on month.
- Keeping abreast of social trends and algorithms to deliver results, but working closely with the Brand Team to ensure that growth never comes at a cost to the brand.
- Community management and engagement sit at the heart of this role. This includes sharing and interacting with the content our community creates, daily check-ins and responses to messages, and monitoring and responding to post and story comments.
- A large part of this role sits with supporting and engaging with our brilliant wholesale customers via social, celebrating our relationships and nurturing them.
Creating & Posting Content:
- This role will deliver against the brand strategy set by the Senior Brand Marketing Manager and the Marketing Director; you will own the Origin content calendar, capturing all imagery, writing copy, seeking approvals where required from the Senior Brand Marketing Manager and aligning with key campaign moments.
- As well as utilising the library of existing content, with your photography and design skills you will create engaging new assets as we amplify the brand across all three channels – wholesale, retail and ecommerce. You will edit images and videos, creating cut downs and use presets to produce brand-led content which is aesthetically Origin and distinctly ‘speciality’.
- You will be responsible for supporting to deliver the visual content for our paid ads, delivering on briefs in a timely manner to help us constantly test and learn in this channel.
- The ability to plan is key; this role is responsible for keeping the social calendar up to date
- – always working at least 2 weeks out. This calendar is something which is regularly shared with the wider team and has to serve the business priorities.
- You will frequently travel between our coffee shops, wholesale customers and events, capturing stills and videos that bring our spaces, people, events and brand stories to life. The responsibility of planning and posting at all brand events will still sit with you.
- Passionate about the visual world, you will be a natural with a camera - understanding lighting and angles, and making beautiful, engaging content that fits with our overall brand aesthetic.
- Identifying when additional external photographers and videographers are needed for hero assets and owning the shoots from planning to execution, getting final assets required for organic and paid social.
Partnerships & Influencers:
- You will be responsible for driving influencer outreach for Origin. By identifying on-brand tastemakers in social communities, you will build partnerships with influencers, brand advocates and other creatives. Reaching out to them to achieve coverage on a monthly and project-specific level.
- Success will be measured on product placement from influencers and content creators. It will be your responsibility to track and document engagement and share this with the wider team.
