This role, reporting to the Group Head of Performance Marketing, focuses on managing digital marketing activities for the Direct Motor, Home and Travel Insurance business and Service Maintenance and Repairs business. Additionally, the role may extend to other AA business lines such as Roadside, AA Cars, AA Financial Service and Driving School.

Collaboration is key in this role, requiring the ability to present to large groups and senior stakeholders, translating technical jargon into clear, understandable terms. Strong commercial acumen is essential, as the role involves conducting in-depth channel forecasts, reporting, and analysis of campaigns. The Digital Marketing Manager will present performance reports during weekly trade meetings and quarterly business reviews, ensuring all activities align with business goals.
Effective management of agency partners is crucial, ensuring they remain motivated and aligned to business priorities by providing them with detailed briefs and digital marketing roadmaps.
The role also involves developing and executing a testing roadmap across digital channels, including creative testing and ad copy optimisation.
A basic understanding of ad operations and experience in tag management is necessary to troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with analytics teams on tracking and tagging requirements.
What will I be doing?
- Manage end to end digital marketing performance across these business areas
- Create in-depth forecasts and paid media plans
- Produce and execute against your pre-defined test and learn roadmap
- Regular reporting and presenting of campaign results and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Work with the Brand team and creative agencies to develop best-in-class creatives
- Work with Brand, Product and Compliance to ensure that messaging is appropriate and that we are putting the customer at the heart of what we do
- Manage agencies to enable them to buy, optimise, and report on activity effectively
- Work closely with colleagues across Insurance and SMR businesses and The AA Group to identify new opportunities to improve performance
- Monitoring and reporting market changes, competitor changes, and our performance to key stakeholders across the Group
What do I need?
- Experience in a similar role in agency or in-house
- Experience hands on managing and optimising performance across Paid Search campaigns (Google and Bing). Additionally, experience in Paid Social (Meta) is desirable
- Proven track record of optimising media investment across digital marketing channels with budgets exceeding £2 million
- Demonstrates continuous innovation and initiative in digital marketing strategies
- Experience working with Google Analytics for reporting and analysis
- Excellent communication, organisation, and presentation skills
- Good knowledge of MarTech and AdTech solutions. Hands-on experience across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Search Ads 360, Campaign Manager, and Paid Social are a plus
- Broad understanding of other digital and offline marketing channels outside of Paid Search
- Ability to successfully manage 3rd party suppliers and build relationships
