Job Summary
We are currently looking for a talented Digital and Social Media Specialist to join the team - someone who can bring our range of machinery to life, highlight all that is great about the Lister Wilder family, and use their marketing skills to reach a much wider audience via all social media channels.
These posts would need to be targeted, with a clear understanding and strategy behind the various campaigns. For example, when buying a new tractor, considering who the decision maker might be verses who the influencers are and how to reach them.
Equally, when showcasing our apprenticeship schemes, we are trying to reach out to teenagers, yet their parents and grandparents may be the people who are also looking for these opportunities, so the channel, tone, language and style should all be taken into account.
Essentially, you need to be thinking about the bigger picture, and then be able to formulate and deliver on a plan.
Responsibilities
- Working with our Sales Director and Marketing Manager to formulate a digital advertising strategy (both organic and paid) to bring new sales leads into the business.
- We demonstrate a lot of machinery to customers (on farms, private estates and golf courses) and we would like you to create captivating content for distribution across social media, websites, and media outlets.
- The visuals are critical and so an eye for a shot and video skills are essential. We also need you to produce an interesting and informative write-up that could be used for print, so a love of language would be another important asset.
- You need to be able to visit a branch and engage with our Sales, Parts and Service team, as we look to showcase the work that they undertake. Please be aware that some will need coaxing out of their shells if we are to tell our story properly.
- We have an existing online presence, something that we would like you to manage, grow and develop. This will include facilitating social media communities by responding to posts and developing discussions, therefore the ability to understand and communicate our values is essential.
- The ability to manage spend and demonstrate the impact will always be important – tracking, analysis and reporting on performance of campaigns using tools such as Facebook Insights and Google Analytics would be part of the role.
- We would like you to educate the team on the use of social media and promote its use within the company, encouraging collaboration across teams and departments as we look to encourage people to feed ideas into yourself.
- We would want you to remain up to date with the latest trends and best practices in social media marketing, content creation, and user-generated content.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. It may involve some weekend work, for example attending agricultural machinery shows that we attend through the summer.
The ideal candidate
- Based along the M4 corridor in close proximity to our Reading and Cirencester branches.
- A team player with the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with colleagues across different departments, but also happy working solo.
- Comfortable being hands-on and being responsible for all aspects of each project to ensure deadlines are met.
- Extremely creative with a passion for digital storytelling and able to use own initiative.
- Adept with the full Adobe suite.
- A strong work ethic, with exceptional attention to detail.
- A great communicator.
- A strong portfolio to showcase professional work.
- A full UK driving license as you will be travelling between branches.
- Confident in using photography, videography and, if you know how to use a drone to capture ariel views – great, although not essential.
