Our ambitious Digital Transformation Programme aims to improve customer experience by increasing digital engagement, enabling us to prioritise in-person and telephone support for those who need it most.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Website Content Officer to join our Communications team. You will play a key role in enhancing the online experience for our communities and colleagues by creating and maintaining simple, accessible content across our online platforms, websites and intranet.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will review and update website content to ensure it is current, accurate, and user-friendly, whilst providing web content advice and support to various services within the council.
You will lead content reviews with a focus on customer experience and accessibility and collaborate with services to ensure website structures and forms meet customer needs and adhere to local government web standards and compliance with accessibility standards.
You’ll be part of the council's corporate communications team and will work closely with the newly formed digital team, supporting the rollout of MS365 SharePoint Online, and the development of associated intranet sites.
You will create action plans for content review, train and support colleagues on best practices, help coordinate user acceptance testing for new online services and applications, and monitor web traffic using GA4
Requirements:
- Proven experience in website content management and digital communications.
- Strong understanding of web accessibility standards and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with MS365 SharePoint Online and other digital tools is advantageous.
