Wilsons started way back in 1861 in Dundee, producing muesli-based food for working dogs.
We’ve changed a fair bit since then and are now one of the fastest growing pet food companies in the UK. Across our two sites in Scotland (Perthshire and Ayrshire), Wilsons produce a range of natural, dry cold pressed and raw frozen dog food. Growth has exceeded all expectations within the retail, wholesale, own label and online sectors, and products can now be found in over 300 stockists nationwide, as well as several well-known retail specialists and supermarkets.
Due to our success and steady growth, we are looking for a talented and experienced Social Media Manager/Marketing Executive. The successful candidate will have to be dedicated, hard-working, creative, competitive and LOVE DOGS.
This role can be made remote for the right candidate, but locally-based talent would be ideal. We like to get together as often as is reasonable to regroup as a team and share ideas, so occasional travel to sites will be required.
What you’ll be doing
Manage all the Wilsons Pet Food social media platforms (facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Google Business).
Organise, manage and co-ordinate the social media content calendar.
Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content on a daily basis, including original text, photos, graphics, videos and news.
Grow, develop and execute the social media strategy and digital marketing campaigns.
Plan, execute and report on paid social campaigns.
Conduct market research and analysis of competitor campaigns.
Provide monthly reporting and analysis.
Keep up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends.
Communicate quickly with followers, respond to queries and monitor customer and competitor reviews across all social media platforms.
Work closely with external marketing teams.
Collaborate with other teams within the business, including sales and customer service, to ensure brand consistency.
Experience and Essential Skills
You will be social media obsessed with a strong understanding and experience of the main social media platforms and how people engage through them. We want someone who is creative, imaginative, and competitive.
Have proven experience in managing social platforms across all channels.
Experience of social media scheduling and understanding of social targeting.
Excellent copywriting skills and hands-on experience in content management.
Strong understanding of design and layout, and ability to deliver creative content (text, image, video). Photographic and design skills a bonus.
Self-motivated with excellent planning and organisational skills, and ability to work independently to a high standard.
Expert knowledge of social media management tools.
Possess good presentation skills and be able to work effectively with influencers, managers, and agencies at all levels.
Oh, and you must love dogs.
