Mission of Role/Position Summary:
The Air Operations Division Staff are responsible for supporting air operations within an Emergency Operations Center by assisting with mission management, coordinating aircraft maintenance and fuel, planning missions, and ensuring the transport of rescue and relief supplies. They handle reporting requirements, collaborate with the Logistics Section, and work with other agencies as needed. Depending on the mission's scope, they may assume additional roles to ensure effective air operations management.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

- Assist the Air Ops Chief with mission management
- Coordinate maintenance/fuel requirements for aircraft
- Assist with coordination of GIS mapping and mission planning
- Coordinate with Logistics Section for the transport of rescue/relief supplies
- Manage regular reporting requirements for Air Ops Chief

- Proven record of accomplishment with project management best practices and knowledge
- Ability to train others and lead people/projects and/or programs with minimal senior leadership oversight
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with a variety of public and private sector clients

- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong time management skills

Supervisory Responsibilities:
May have lead responsibilities within projects or small teams depending on function with senior level support.
Expected Hours of Work:
Schedule may vary, but 12-hour work days can be expected. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel to work site
- Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time
Physical Demands:
- Mobility required on-site with clients
- Sitting or standing for hours at a time
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed
Working Environment:
- Work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites, local government buildings, or some outdoor assignments in/around flightlines or other air operations
- All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire
- If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes
Requirements
Experience and Education Required
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or other applicable field
- 5+ years of professional experience with air search and rescue missions
- 5+ years of professional experience with flight line management of multiple aircraft types
- Understanding of ICS/NIMS Air Operations
Experience And Education Preferred
- Proficient with Salesforce
- Certified/Licensed aircraft pilots (current or former)
- Certified/Licensed airframe technician (current or former)
- Certified/Licensed avionics technician (current or former)
- Applicable Certifications:
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
- ICS position-specific certification preferred:
- ICS 100, 200, 700
- NIMS ICS E0987 All-Hazards Intro to Air Operations
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US
- Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment
