We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Market Analyst to join our team. The Senior Market Analyst is a key strategic role responsible for leading advanced market research efforts, analyzing complex data sets, and delivering actionable insights that guide high-level decision-making. This position requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and customer behaviors, coupled with the ability to forecast trends and identify opportunities. As a senior member of the team, this person will collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop the organization's long-term strategy and market positioning.
Key Responsibilities:
Industry Analyst Relations:
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key industry analysts (e.g., Gartner, Forrester, IDC, Frost & Sullivan, etc.) to ensure the company's presence in relevant reports, market evaluations, and vendor rankings
- Represent the company in formal briefings and inquiry sessions with industry analysts to influence their perception of the company, its products, and its market positioning
- Monitor analyst activities and publications to stay informed of industry trends, competitor evaluations, and key market developments
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth market research, including competitive analysis, market sizing, and trend identification, to support business strategy and product development
- Analyze customer behavior, market needs, and potential growth areas to inform strategic planning
- Provide regular reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior leadership with clear insights and actionable recommendations
Strategic Insight Development:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Product, and Strategy) to translate market insights into product and business strategies
- Prepare and deliver thought leadership materials and presentations that align with the company's objectives and market positioning
- Evaluate market entry strategies, growth opportunities, and potential risks
Competitor and Industry Trend Monitoring:
- Track and analyze competitor activities, product launches, and strategic moves within the industry
- Stay up to date on regulatory, technological, and economic trends that may impact the market landscape
- Provide insights into emerging market opportunities and potential disruptions in the industry
Content Creation & Reporting:
- Create high-quality market research reports, presentations, and white papers for internal stakeholders and external use
- Share actionable intelligence with relevant teams to inform go-to-market strategies and competitive positioning
- Maintain a repository of key industry reports, insights, and data for ongoing use across departments
Collaboration with Leadership and Teams:
- Work closely with senior executives to align market research with business objectives and corporate strategy
- Serve as the key point of contact for external industry analysts, and provide guidance on how the company can better engage with analyst firms
Thought Leadership & Advocacy:
- Establish the company as a thought leader by proactively engaging in discussions with analysts, attending relevant industry events, and contributing to the company's reputation in the market
- Assist in defining company narratives that resonate with industry analysts, customers, and partners
Success Criteria:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to process large sets of data and identify trends
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner
- Strong knowledge of market research methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders, including external analysts and internal leadership
- Experience with market sizing, forecasting, and competitive analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, Power BI, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail, coupled with a strategic mindset to evaluate market trends and opportunities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data in an easy-to-understand manner to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations and reports to senior executives
Requirements
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a related graduate degree is required. A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is also required
- 5+ years of experience in market research, market analysis, or a related strategic role
- Proven experience leading market research projects and providing strategic insights to senior leadership
- Proven track record of working with and influencing industry analysts (e.g., Gartner, Forrester, IDC)
- Experience with large-scale data analysis and competitive intelligence
