Flooring Superstore is an award winning online and offline flooring retailer. We sell a wide range of floor types including specialist brands focused on smooth flooring and artificial grass. After starting out online back in 2012, we have gone from strength to strength and have grown considerably in size. We began opening up retail stores over 8 years ago to compliment our online presence. Since then, we have opened 40+ stores nationwide, with many more planned to open in 2025 and beyond.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Content Marketing Executive/Strategist to work in our marketing team to drive our SEO efforts through search-first, data driven content - both on site and through our blogs. We are looking for someone creative, adventurous and hardworking to join our small but growing marketing unit.

The individual we are looking for is well-organised with a fantastic eye for detail with knowledge on how to write engaging content for our company, products and also for our customers.

The role would include:

Creating tailored content strategies and writing engaging content for our blog, product-related texts, and other marketing related projects.
Produce quality, SEO optimised long & short form content, be that service/product pages or long form content.
Identify areas for improvement in existing content.
Work alongside our CMO to develop content strategies to deliver growth for our brands.
Using tools and best practices to research and enhance all content.
Support the development of new websites and blogs by analysing gaps in existing content and providing recommendations & new content based on gaps identified.
Ensuring that SEO best practices & cutting edge developments are integrated into all content production.
Monitor and analyse SEO performance using relevant tools.
Monitor and review competitor activity to understand opportunities and threats.

About the candidate

2 years experience in writing SEO content.
An ability to research and create digital content for a range of mediums that fits the intended purpose. A strong eye for detail, quality written prose, proofreading ability, and able to adapt their writing style to different tones of voice and context.
An understanding of EEAT & Google algorithm ranking factors.
Experience in developing content strategies over a 3-6 month time period.
Experience in ideating new content & utilising data to decide what content should be produced.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Numerical and analytical capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Up to date with trends such as search updates & AI content generation
Experience with SEO tools including Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs & Google Sheets

The Application Process

The application process consists of an initial 30 minute telephone/Zoom interview where we can get to know each other better. If successful you’ll be given a role specific presentation to prepare for your second interview and asked more technical questions relating to the role.

Hours - 37.5 hours per week

Flexibility - Our team runs on core hours of 10am - 3pm during the working day, so if you need a bit of flexibility in your day, that’s all okay! We’re looking to make work a part of your life, rather than work dictating life. We also have a hybrid model of working in our team, meaning we’re in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so we can work collaboratively as a team and also with other departments in the business, but on Thursday and Friday we dedicate to home working and allowing task focus.
